In order to justify his proposal, Harsh Punjabi, the creator of Dot Company, explained that he had just Rs 100 in cash and was getting ready to go on a trip.
Shopping for groceries and other basics is now easier than ever thanks to quick commerce platforms, which have completely changed how customers obtain everyday necessities. Many of these sites now provide minute-by-minute delivery of electrical devices like computers and phones in addition to food. As the business changes to meet consumer needs and compete with other platforms, creative ideas for enhancing their products keep coming up. Social media users recently took notice of one such proposal.
For the well-known rapid commerce platform Blinkit, multimedia producer and Dot Company founder Harsh Punjabi came up with a novel concept. In an X post, he proposed that Blinkit launch an “ATM-like” service that would send cash to consumers’ houses in ten minutes if they paid using UPI.
In his post, Harsh tagged Blinkit’s CEO Albinder Dhindsa and referred to the concept as “super helpful,” urging the platform to take the suggestion into consideration. Please launch an ATM-like service on Blinkit, Albinder Dhindsa. In less than ten minutes, you may deliver cash to the user’s door once they pay via UPI. Really useful,” Harsh wrote on X.
Harsh gave an explanation of how he came up with the idea, saying that he was going on a trip and only had Rs 100 in cash at home. “I don’t want to use the ATM. I’ll have to, though,” he continued.
With over two lakh views and a spirited discussion in the comment area, the piece immediately became popular on the internet. Although some people thought Harsh’s concept was creative and useful, others doubted its viability.
One reviewer offered their viewpoint, stating, “This doesn’t work well without a banking license, and frequently ran into daily limit issues.”
Another person said, “That’s a smart concept. They already provide such services, and I have one in front of my flat. In addition to providing courier services and photocopying, the man also sorts and delivers goods that customers buy from well-known internet retailers. There is a legal limit of ₹25,000.
Concerning the dangers, another person commented, “You know what? It will be deadly! However, handling liquid currency has several risks.
Actually, to improve it, you should ask the user which note denominations they like. Someone commented, “This is a new age problem, no time to withdraw cash.”
However, not everyone was on board. One commenter said, “And let’s get lazy now and not even move our muscles.”
We’re losing the motivation to do *any* things at all, said another commenter.
One person joked, “Cash on delivery literally,” while another remarked mockingly, “You can also ask him to spend on your behalf.” It would be quite beneficial.
