Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff proclaimed at the annual ‘Dreamforce’ event in San Francisco that the world is entering an “Indian era,” underscoring India’s rising global impact.
“There is no denying that India is about to enter a truly remarkable period. It’s a really exciting opportunity, as you can see,” he added.
Benioff expressed strong confidence in Salesforce’s growth in India, where the company now employs over 11,000 individuals. He highlighted the importance of Indian operations in areas like engineering and market engagement, citing prominent clients such as the Bajaj Group.
He also commended Arundhati Bhattacharya, former SBI Chairperson and the current head of Salesforce India, for her leadership in fostering this growth. Although Benioff did not reveal specific plans for expanding the workforce, he emphasized the pivotal role India will play in Salesforce’s future strategy.
Additionally, Salesforce unveiled its partner network, which includes AWS, Google, IBM, and Workday, as well as “Agentforce,” an autonomous AI tool intended to optimize business processes. Additionally, the business and NpostposposVIDIA have worked together to offer sophisticated autonomous AI agents for enterprise use.
Benioff predicted that it will revolutionize sales, marketing, and commerce, characterizing it as a significant advancement beyond conventional chatbots.
He said, “There’s a way to transition the workforce to these new opportunities, and some companies have already done it,” in response to worries about AI-driven job loss.
Expanding its reach and highlighting its Indian audience, Salesforce has appointed Rahul Dravid, the renowned Indian cricket star, as its first-ever brand ambassador. Dravid will assist Indian businesses in leveraging the Salesforce CRM platform to drive growth. This initiative is part of the “Growing With India” campaign, which promotes Salesforce’s user-friendly, all-in-one CRM solution designed to elevate Indian businesses to new heights.
